The last day?

Some unwise, false prophet predicted that today the world would begin it's last days… that Christ would come for His Church, today. He claimed to have proof based on scripture… The truth about that event is… that God alone knows the time of His Son's return, and nobody else can know.

It angers me to hear such false predictions. It makes Christianity something to laugh at. It allows the world (saved and unsaved alike) to joke about a very real event. It encourages people to make decisions based on fear, then when what they fear doesn't happen, they are (justifiably) angered because of being lied to. It allows people to say the Bible is a book of lies, and thus God is a liar…

The rapture will happen. We don't know when, it will come upon us as a thief in the night, a surprise when nobody can plan for it in advance. We need to live like everyday is the last day, because it could be.

God cannot lie. He will destroy humanity as He has described it in the book of Revelation. He is gracious and tolerant far beyond any of us, or we would have been wiped out centuries ago!

"The King is Coming!!"

"Praise God, He's coming for me
The marketplace is empty, no more traffic in the street
All the builder's tools are silent, no more time to harvest wheat
Busy housewives cease their labor, in the courtroom no debate
Work on earth has been suspended as the King comes through the gate

Who were crippled, broken, ruined, clad in garments white as snow

I can hear the chariot's rumble, I can see the marching throng
And the fury of God's trumpet spells the end of sin and wrong

That's only part of the story… the story for those who are ready, what we have to look forward to…

The rest of the story is beyond horrible for those not ready… it's really not a laughing matter…

He wants no one to perish… He wants all to come to repentance…

We would be wise to not make light of the false prophet. And to instead of joking along with those making fun, perhaps take time to remind and remember He is coming one day, we need to be ready because the picture painted in Revelation is not pretty and it doesn't tell us everything…

I saw this about a week before I had the opportunity to live it again.  We are blessed. I have lived the truth of Psalm 68:6, more than once. It says "God setteth the solitary in families". And for me, He has. He has set me in multiple families!  I do not take that for granted!  I have had to make hard choices to step away from biological family that is/was not healthy or a people who looked out for my safety and well-being.  I am sure they have made choices that they believed to be best for themselves, but they were damaging to me and would have been unsafe for my children.   As a "solitary" person who has sought to love the Lord and His people,  I have been blessed to experience His unconditional adoptive love through His people.  The people He has placed in my life for me to love and be loved by.  I am always amazed when the families of those I love like family accept and me and my kids rather than being threatened ...

Yay!

So excited. The bits and pieces seem to be coming together quite nicely for a summer adventure… me & my kids-a road trip in California. :) Summer is a little ways off still, but I can at least dream of the sun when I can't see it :). If I get the answer I am hoping for from one more couple… and call Brad's aunt, we should be able to make the whole trip with no hotel stays, and get to see at least 9 friends… Barbara is making great strides in her potty training. Good times… good friends… good memories… I can hardly wait!!!!!!!

They learn by choosing to follow the leading of adults they love and respect. Mentoring can be formal or informal. There are programs like Big Brother Big Sister of America that pair kids with mentors. These programs are great and can make a difference in the lives of children, but sometimes the child can feel more like a project, like the adult mentor is trying to fix them.
