Thanksgiving 2020

When I wake in the morning, it will be Thanksgiving Day. This year has been crazy unprecedented in so many ways, but in that chaos, I have so much to be thankful for (details of which I am saving for my Christmas letter ☺).
As with the last four years, I have have seen the hand of God orchestrating my every step. It is so cool to see Him active in my world, providing, protecting, and preparing us for the things we cannot yet see.
Thanksgiving is the beginning of the Christmas season (at least in our family), and this year I am so thankful for the family God has placed me into. Not only because I finally have a place I feel like I belong, I fit, but because of the mutual support and encouragement we are to each other.
I was thinking about my life yesterday. Where it's gone, what I've done, and how it has gone in many circles. Today I have a job that, most days feels more like ministry than work, I have the ability to visit the parents almost every day (most days twice, if only for 5 or 10 minutes), I'm able to help my kids with their schoolwork, and aside from my schooling transitioning to online, our lives are mostly untouched by Covid.  By giving me this life I am currently living, the Lord has answered prayers that I had on my heart for close to 20 years. The desires of my heart have been mostly granted to me. I don't know why, other than the fact that God is good. Far better to any of us than we could ever hope to deserve.
I am so thankful for the opportunity to love those who have not only loved me, but have loved others as God lead them throughout their lives, and as they near the end of their days (which could easily be several more years), I am blessed to be the one cheering them on, and lending a hand when they need it.
I hope we can all look beyond the craziness that has been 2020, and see all the amazing, good things God has done in our individual lives, and thank Him for those abundant gifts; giving Him the praise HE is worthy of.
